Post-Procedure Aftercare Guidelines: Tips for Best Results
Leaving the clinic with great results is only half the journey; the other half relies entirely on you! Proper skincare in the days following your cosmetic treatment (fillers, botox, laser, or chemical peels) ensures success and prevents unwanted side effects.
Golden Rules for Immediate Aftercare:
- Avoid Direct Heat: Stay away from saunas, hot showers, and direct sun exposure for at least 48 hours.
- Gentle and Constant Hydration: Apply fragrance-free, gentle moisturizers to support the skin’s healing process.
- Sunscreen is Mandatory: Always apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 50+) to protect your sensitive skin from post-treatment pigmentation.
- Avoid Makeup and Exfoliants: Give your skin a break of 24 to 72 hours before applying makeup, and skip harsh exfoliants (like Retinol or AHAs) for at least a week.
To Maximize and Prolong Results
- Drink Plenty of Water: Especially after fillers, as hyaluronic acid binds to water molecules to keep the skin plump.
- Sleep on Your Back: Keep your head slightly elevated during the first few nights to reduce swelling and avoid displacing the injected product.
Remember: Mild redness and slight swelling are completely normal. However, if you experience prolonged discomfort or unusual pain, contact your treating physician immediately.
